A bit of testing and a bit of fun.

-On Wednesday the group was taken by surprised when I gave them a mock test. I needed to check writing skills and I gave the students a modified version of a "selectividad" exam that took place in Castilla la Mancha in 2008. In case you could not attend the class you can download it clicking on: mock exam. I gave the students 1 hour and 15 minutes maximum, no dictionaries were allowed.  If you are not attending lessons  you can emial me the composition.
-After the break I thought the class deserved a treat and we played "Guess Who?". Students were divided in groups of 4 or 5 members and received different class with a name, a photograph and a basic biography. The rest of the students had to guess by means of Yes/No questions who the famous person was.

1B Love it or hate it!!!

On Monday we finished lesson 1B.
-We started off with a communicative activity on celebrity gossips where students had to match sentences with 5 differnet celebrities and then check with their partners whether they were right or wrong.
-Back to the book we started with the correction of homework and then we moved to antoher grammar activity (6 page 9). We listened to answers and suggested new ones.
-Listening: our friends Jeremy and Amy shared their views on flying, cooking, football on tv and customer service phone lines with us. Students had to identify the speaker, whether he/she loved o hated the activity and give two reasons. To finish up, we listen to and read the transcript of the 4 speeches, focussin on stressed words.
Extra activity: we had some extra time and students got into groups of 4 or 5 people and describe a secret place, then they read it aloud and the rest of the groups had to guess the country and the city.
